Cross foot stand: Obstacle stand for the riding arena | Alfako
High-quality cross foot stands are ideal for setting up a course or a single obstacle in your own riding arena.
In the following, we explain on the one hand what material cross-foot stands are made of and what the special characteristics of the cross-foot stand are, and on the other hand how high, heavy and expensive the stands are.
What material are cross-foot stands for the riding arena made of?
Cross-foot stands for the riding arena are usually made of aluminium, hot-dip galvanised black plate or wood. Aluminium has the advantage that it is lighter than black plate or wood and is cheaper.
The hot-dip galvanisation of the black plate ensures that the stand is resistant to corrosion and weathering. The hot-dip galvanised black plate is therefore not affected by outdoor storage. Wood, on the other hand, is a natural raw material and is very durable if cared for properly. You can even paint a wooden cross-foot stand yourself.
What are the features of cross-foot stands?
The characteristics of cross foot stands are that they are very stable due to their 3-4 struts (feet). They cannot easily tip over, not even when your horse tears the pole. The struts are also suitable for convenient nesting for storage in confined spaces.
Because the stands have a low dead weight, they can be carried and dismantled or set up effortlessly by riders of all ages.
Thanks to the integrated keyhole system, obstacle supports can be optimally hooked into the keyholes and thus the height of the obstacle bars can be adjusted as desired.
Cross-legged stands are also available in some shops in different colours.
How high are cross-foot stands?
Cross foot stands generally have a height of 1.50 m to 1.80 m. The size you should choose depends on the height of the obstacle you need for your training and the size of your horse or pony. However, the height of the obstacle bar can be changed using the keyhole system with the help of obstacle pads.
How heavy are cross-foot stands?
The weight of the cross-foot stands varies between 3.5 kg and 8 kg. The difference in weight is so great because different materials weigh different amounts. Of the three materials, aluminium, black plate and wood, aluminium weighs the least. The lighter the cross-foot stand, the lower the price.
What is the price of a cross-foot stand?
The price of a cross-foot stand is between €70 and €200. Various factors play a role in the price, which later make up the cost. These factors are the material of the obstacle stand, the height of the stand and the weight of the stand.
If the cross-foot stand has a special coat of paint, a higher price must also be expected.
