How do you keep the food fresh in the food container?

You can keep the food fresh in the food container by always sealing it airtight with a lid when not in use. A snug-fitting hinged lid on the food container prevents moisture, bacteria, pests and air from getting in and thereby compromising the quality of the food.

Store the feed container in a cool, dry place and, where possible, only open it at feeding times and only when absolutely necessary. After each time you take food out, the lid of the food container should be carefully closed again. How do you look after food containers?

To look after a food container, first remove all food residues from the container and check it for any damage. Once the food container has been emptied, clean the inside and the lid with a damp cloth or a brush, using mild soap if necessary.

Strong cleaning products should not be used when cleaning the storage container, as any residue will affect the food. After cleaning the storage container, you must allow it to dry completely before filling it with new food to prevent mould from forming. Ideally, the storage container should be cleaned before each refill to ensure that the fresh food is always stored under hygienic conditions.
