What are tournament cabinets?

Show lockers are saddle lockers designed for travelling and especially for shows. Show lockers are mobile tack rooms and are used to neatly store riding equipment such as saddles, bridles, blankets, etc. Most show lockers are made of steel or aluminium.

A show locker protects your riding equipment from dust and weather conditions and is equipped with wheels and a handle on each side for easy transport. Show lockers are also lockable and available in different sizes depending on the amount of riding equipment. You can also choose to buy a show locker with a top cabinet, protective tarpaulin or other extras.

How much space is there in tournament cabinets?

Show lockers have space for all the equipment you need for travelling. Depending on your needs and accessories, you can opt for a small tack locker with space for just one saddle and snaffle or a large tack locker with space for two saddles and several snaffles, for example.

The larger the horse show locker, the more compartments, drawers and extras there are in the locker. Some models of tournament lockers include additional features such as a mirror, a locker light, a locking brake or a lockable valuables compartment.

Our tournament cabinets from Alfako

Our high-quality show lockers from Alfako are available in various sizes and offer sufficient space for all accessories for horse and rider. All 17 show lockers are equipped with saddle holders and one or more pull-out bridle holder rails with plastic holders.

The high-quality tournament lockers from Alfako are lockable and are supplied with two keys. Most of our tournament lockers are available in two to three different colours.

Tournament cabinet Mini

Alfako's Mini tournament lockers are available in the "Mini Economy" and "Mini" versions. The heights of the Mini tournament lockers are 116 cm and 124 cm in height and 65 cm in width. Although our Mini tournament lockers do not have castors, they do have a handle on the top of the locker. The handle makes it easy to load the cabinet onto a hand truck.

Both versions of the Mini show locker have two saddle holders and a pull-out snaffle rail with three plastic snaffle holders. The lockers have two rubber wheels with a diameter of 160 or 200 mm and a spacious drawer. The Mini show lockers are made of steel or aluminium and are available in silver, green and blue or in silver only.

Tournament cabinet Midi

The Midi tournament cabinet is available from Alfako in the "Midi Economy", "Midi Economy Inox", "Midi Inox", "Midi", "Midi Comfort" and "Midi Prestige" versions. The Midi lockers vary in height between 108.5 cm and 131.5 cm and have a width of 117.5 cm. All Midi tournament lockers have a depth of 60 cm.

The midi versions of the tournament cabinet have three drawers and the larger tournament cabinets also have a horizontal drawer. Depending on the size, there are either two or four handles on the midi tournament cabinets for easy transport. Inside the lockers there are two pull-out show locker rails with a total of six snaffle holders. Each show cabinet has four wheels (two swivel wheels with parking brake, two fixed wheels), which are either pneumatic or made of rubber. The diameter of these wheels varies between 160 and 200 mm.

The Inox models are made of high-quality stainless steel, which protects against corrosion, is very robust and also ensures the longevity of the tournament cabinet. The other midi tournament lockers are made of steel or aluminium. All Midi cabinets can be ordered with a top cabinet for more storage space and a matching tarpaulin to protect against dust.

Tournament cabinet Maxi

In our Maxi edition of the tournament lockers, we differentiate between several variants: "Maxi Economy", "Maxi", "Maxi Comfort", "Maxi Comfort Safe Edition", "Maxi Prestige", "Maxi Plus", "Maxi Plus Western", "Maxi Plus Inox" and "Maxi Inox".

Each of our Maxi show locker models has space for two saddles and, with the exception of Maxi Plus, is equipped with three bridle holder rails with 12 bridle holders each. All Maxi show lockers have four handles for easy transport and four wheels with a diameter of 250 mm to 260 mm. Maxi, Maxi Plus, Maxi Plus Western, Maxi Plus Inox and Maxi Inox have an integrated mirror inside the cabinet.

Our Maxi tournament lockers are made of steel - with the Maxi and Maxi-Plus models, there is also a choice between steel and aluminium. The height of the Maxi tournament lockers varies between 140.5 cm and 180 cm. All Maxi tournament lockers are 152.5 cm wide and 63 to 80 cm deep.

If you want extra security at tournaments, then it's best to choose the Maxi Comfort Safe Edition. The Maxi Comfort Safe Edition has the same features as the other tournament lockers, but is manufactured to be particularly burglar-proof. The tournament locker is very robust and has thick doors and frames that resemble a safe to optimally protect your equipment from theft.

How is a tournament cabinet cleaned?

A tournament cabinet is cleaned by first removing the equipment and then cleaning the inside and outside of the cabinet with a mild detergent and a sponge. Then allow the tournament cabinet to dry completely. Air the tournament cabinet regularly to prevent mould from forming in the cabinet.

The tournament cabinet should be thoroughly cleaned at least every 2 to 3 months. Sweep the tournament cabinet with a hand brush at least once a week to remove coarse dust from the equipment and from the floor and walls of the tournament cabinet.

Which tournament cabinet is the right one?

Which tournament cabinet is right for you depends on various factors such as the amount of equipment, desire for extra equipment and budget. The place where you want to store the tournament cabinet also determines how big the tournament cabinet should be.

How much space do you need in your wardrobe, i.e. how much equipment do you have? Are six bridle holders enough for you or do you need 12? Are extras such as several drawers, a lockable valuables compartment and a mirror important to you or is simple equipment sufficient for you? How high is your budget?
