A feed trolley is a useful helper in the barn for transporting animal feed from one place to another. A feed wagon makes it easier to feed your animals, as the pneumatic tyres allow the feed to be transported effortlessly. The feed trolley is particularly often used on farms with several horses.

There are different types of feed trolleys, such as a feed trolley with or without a lid, a feed trolley with one or two compartments (partition) and a feed trolley with or without a mineral container. Many horse supply shops also offer a lockable feed trolley to protect it from unauthorised access.
Whether you opt for a feed trolley with or without a lid depends on the conditions in your barn. If there is a possibility of dirt, dust or bacteria getting into the feed at the later storage location of the feed trolley, you should opt for a feed trolley with a lid.
Dirt and dust will get into the feed trolley, especially if the feed is stored openly in the trolley for a longer period of time. If you feed the entire contents directly to the animals after filling the feed, choose a feed trolley without a lid. Small feed trolleys with a small capacity are usually offered without a lid.
A partition wall in the feed wagon is ideal for horse owners if different types of feed or feed rations are to be transported and distributed at the same time, but separately. A feed wagon with a partition saves a second feed aisle. Feed carts with partitions are mainly used in large stables with several horses.
A feed trolley without partitions is suitable if a standardised feed is fed to all horses (e.g. hay or the same concentrated feed). Partitions are also not necessary if the feed is weighed individually for each horse beforehand and prepared in portions in buckets. In this case, the feed trolley is used to transport the filled buckets.
Feed trolleys with mineral containers are suitable for storing and transporting mineral feed separately from other types of feed in the feed trolley. The separate mineral container enables a targeted and individualised mineral feed for each horse. The container for the mineral feed is simply mounted on the outer or inner wall of the feed wagon.
There is no need for a mineral container on the feed wagon in the horse stable if minerals are fed elsewhere (e.g. via lickstones or additives in concentrated feed) or if mineral feed is not administered on the instructions of the vet due to certain illnesses or individual feeding concepts.
The advantages of feed trolleys are that they make feeding animals easier, are versatile, offer a large storage space and are easy to handle. Feed trolleys are also durable and long-lasting, have pneumatic wheels and are made of robust material.
